Well, I decided that since I lack of money, and time, and patience, and all the things required to make a cosplay, my last cosplay would be the best, the closest to my heart…I´d say goodbye to cosplay with a “Gran Finale”.

It wasn´t quite as I expected.

First of all: the outfit wasn´t complete…lack of money, and competence from my costume designer, made it not the way I wanted…close but not exactly.

Second: the event. Since my cosplay was  Morten Sverre in 1785, of course I couldn´t make a performance, there´s this thing about Otaku no Matsur, they don´t want any cosplay that´s not from a japanese character… ¬¬  whatever, dudes…

I actually made a lot of plans, and in the end anything was the way I expected…I could just say then “well, I didn´t said goodbye yet” and wait for another oportunity to play that character…but you really think I will spend 8 bucks on a ticket to a event I don´t enjoy anymore – for personal reasons – that used to cost 3? No fucking way…

Am I pissed? A lot. Things are not as funny as they use to be…and I´m kinda tired of this whole EMO universe that took manga and anime events just like Hitler took Poland: using the force. And, sadly, not the Jedi one.

Here some photos of my cosplay – of course I made the whole scenery using photos from the net…because the original photos, God forbid…

I really had more fun editing these photos than going to the event, would you believe? O____O

Dina is another chapter of upseting things on my cosplay…she was supposed to play Saturnine, but a lot of things went wrong with the cosplay…starting by the fact that I chose her… u___u

This is a representation of the final chapter, where Morten makes a plan to kill Saturnine, helped by his son Julius…if we could make a presentation of this performance, just the way I wrote the chapter, geez, we could get the best performance award at the event…I´m not kidding…but it´s not oing to happen.

By the way, about my band – no, these girls are not in it – I decided the name, with Amanda: it is DeLarge…just like Alex Delarge… but the thing is, we aren’t having any rehearsals… we´re kind of hibernating…

Maybe at holiday season we start to work again.

I´m back again…

…and roam the streets, and crack again, I´m back again…

For all this time I´ve been away from the net, a quick update of my life:

Yesterday was the first show of my new band, which has no name yet, we improvised some stuff, and it was kind of last minute thing… me (vocals) , Amanda (guitar), Victor (bass) and Juan (drums), and of course there´s Adriano which is in the band also, he plays guitar, but he was just watchin yesterday, since he wants to rehearse Van Halen and some other stuff for the next time.

He said as soon as we decide the setlist, we will start the rehearsals, and for now we have about 9 songs on the list, but I´m checkin the possibility of more:

# Somebody to love – Queen

# I´m going slightly mad – Queen

# Amazing – David Bowie

# Rebel Rebel – David Bowie

# Without you – Van Halen

# Smells like teen spirit – Nirvana

# On a plain – Nirvana

# Yer Blues – The Beatles

# Helter Skelter – The Beatles

I still have to send this list to Adriano, though he already have a lot of work to do in “without you”…

I´m studing guitar since the begining of this month with Adriano, he´s my teacher and I already got him to be in my band ahaha! Very smart me uh?

I´m also having musical theory with Fabricio, both at Hightech musical school…plus, Amanda, who also plays guitar in the band, is a coleague at my guitar class.

There are also some plans I have in classical music… Cello, to be more specific, but these ones I´ll tell afterwards…for now, the important is the pop-opera-glam-rock band…

…and I have to find a name for it.     ¬_¬ ‘

Duran duran

Duran Duran are an English pop band notable for a long series of popular singles and vivid music videos. The band’s hit singles include:

In the 80´s:

“Save A Prayer”

“Is There Something I Should Know?”

They have won two Grammy Awards for their music videos.

Duran Duran was created by Nick Rhodes (keyboards)

and John Taylor (bass),

with the later addition of Roger Taylor (drums) – not to be confused with Queen´s Roger Taylor O___O’ ,

 Andy Taylor (guitar),

and Simon Le Bon (lead vocals);

None of the Taylors are related. The group has never disbanded, but the line-up changed to include guitarist Warren Cuccurullo from 1989 to 2001, and drummer Sterling Campbell from 1989 to 1991.

The reunion of the original five members in the early 2000s, leading to the release of Astronaut in 2004, created a stir among music media and the band’s fans.

Duran Duran’s next album Red Carpet Massacre is due for release on November 12, 2007 (UK & Europe) and November 13, 2007 (USA).

The first single will be “Falling Down”, which was produced and co-written with Justin Timberlake”. It has now been confirmed that the release date is now November 12th(Europe) and November 13th (USA), by the band’s official website.

I became a huge fan of Duran duran when I saw them for the first time in Electric Barbarella music video…since then, I have collected all their albuns, a lot of photos and a lot of videos. Duran duran is definitely one of my fav bands in the whole world. They change a lot my life, and made a big impression on me.

Duran DuranLand – From the album BIG THING, 1989

Baby, I’m really sorry
to break your dream
when it’s so early
Headlights
on the windowpane
they’re getting lost
in the light of day
tomorrow is today
and soon my ship will sail

Away from here
to walk a howling sealane
stay for me
your love is life
for love is land

Baby, just hear my story
before I leave
before we write the end
Standing, across the ocean stream
I’ll need to know
I’ll need your country then

tomorrow and today
you keep my landfall safe

away from here (away from here)
to walk a howling sealane (away from you)
stay for me (stay for me)
I need your love to land
away from here (away from here)
to walk a howling sealane (away from you)
stay for me (stay for me)
your love is life, for love is land

away from here (away from here)
to walk a howling sealane (away from you)
stay for me (stay for me)
I need your love to land
away from here (away from here)
to walk a howling sealane (away from you)
stay for me (stay for me)
your love is life, for love is land

love is land
love is land
love is land

Cold as Stone – A-ha

You’re back again
You roam the streets
And crack again
You’re back again
You’re travel-worn
Standing here in the town
Where you were born
It’s not your home
The mirror sees you
So alone
…Cold as stone
Yeah
You’re not your own
You feel a chill
Go through your bones
You’re not your own
There’s something wrong
You call you doctor
On the phone
He’s not at home
You leave a message
After the tone
“I’m cold as stone”
Emerald green neon lights above
Sapphire red falls on you below
Cold as stone
Emerald green neon lights above
Sapphire reds fall on you below
You’re back again
You send a curse out
In to the night
You’re back again
You’re travel-worn
Standing here
In the town you were born
It’s not your home
The mirror sees you
So alone
…Cold as stone
Cold as stone

Actor to star in classic sci-fi remake

Twentieth Century Fox has set Keanu Reeves to star in “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” its re-imagining of the 1951 Robert Wise-directed sci-fi classic.

Reeves committed over the weekend to play Klaatu, a humanoid alien who arrives on Earth accompanied by an indestructible, heavily armed robot and a warning to world leaders that their continued aggression will lead to annihilation by species watching from afar.

Erwin Stoff is producing, with Scott Derrickson (“The Exorcism of Emily Rose”) directing from a script by David Scarpa. Reeves’ commitment puts the picture on track for a late fall or early 2008 production start. Studio sees it as a tentpole.

The Klaatu role was originated by Michael Rennie. The 1951 film’s premise, a response to the rise of the Cold War after WWII, is being updated, and the film will use advances in visual effects.

It also returns “The Matrix” star to his strong suit in the sci-fi realm and puts him in back-to-back films for Fox. He just completed the David Ayer-directed “The Night Watchman,” for Fox Searchlight/Regency about police corruption based on a story by James Ellroy. Forest Whitaker, Chris Evans and Hugh Laurie also star.

Last day of Anima Mundi

Well, still without the net, but Unama´s always there for me. =D

This Sunday I went to watch the last short films presented in Anima Mundi Festival, that took place at the Dock Station, here in Belém. One of the movies that really made me laugh hard was the Making of Gladiator, a hilarious parody of Russel Crowe…

There were other great movies too, but this keeps rolling in my mind! xD

About the rest of the day, played chess twice, lost both times, I really wasn´t concentrated, the rest of the day was about having a good walk home. Not the best walk, but a good one, with three good friends.

Hello people I love!

Again, I uploaded more photos on flickr.com, but let me explain how destiny helped me to get these new photos.

I was walking outside the theatre, a little bit sad, because Dina missed the Lírica Paraense, her dad didn´t let her go… so I was thinking that I was supposed to walk home alone, about 7 blocks… the streets were desert, I was really afraid of being attacked like I never been afraid before.

I saw then Helena, a good friend of mine from the “Theatre Factory” of Unama, which is the theatre group we have classes since the beginning of this year. We spoke a bit about the next operas, I said I was crazy to see “Gianni Schicchi“, and that I was compleatly in love with the conductor, Matheus Araújo (doesn´t matter that a lot of people say he´s gay, I still have my hopes…I don´t have someone for over 2 years now   T_T  *sigh).

Helena told me that Gigi Furtado, her best friend and our colleague at the Usina, was a great friend of him, and they are always at the Hilton having beers. I got shocked, specially because when she said that, coincidently he came where we were! I just looked at him, but I couldn´t talk to him, since I didn´t knew the guy.

So Helena gave me the idea to talk to Gigi to come and watch her next rehearsal, on friday. And that´s what I did.

It was a wonderful afternoon, where I had the chance to see my friend Antonio Wilson, and got to talk again with Manuel Alvarez, the baritone that charmed my friend Dina, he´s actually very nice to talk and I discovered that he went to architecture college just as I did… I got to the conclusion that is easy for an architect to become a artist! hahaha  xDDD

So Gigi got a call from Matheus Araújo saying that he was going to be late… I got a little bit more nervous, because I wanted to see him, but I didn´t knew if he would like to meet me.

He got there a few minutes later, and he was very serious, I wasn´t feeling a good mood to get near him by that time, but about two hours later he looked more relaxed, then I went to talk with him, when he did a pause.

I explained that I became a fan just a few weeks ago, when I saw him at the Internacional Music Festival. And then during all the pauses he had, he came back to talk to me… a real nice man, I will confess, I was surprised, he´s very down to earth.

After the rehearsal, he invited me, Gigi and Dina – Dina got there 3 hours later – to have a drink at the Hilton. I didn´t wanted anything, Dina had water and Matheus and Gigi all over the beer.  xD

And of course, Manuel Alvarez – you´re my hero dude! – invited me and Dina to watch the rehearsal next monday. Another chance to see…  *sigh*

Well, here are the photos from this beatiful special friday:

This one was taken normal, I just made an adjustment on lights and put on sepia tone, to make it… cute, I don´t know… xD

This is baritone Manuel Alvarez, MY HERO, xD and he´s from Rio de Janeiro just like me! ^_^

Here, from left to right: João Ó de Almeida, Gigi Furtado, Thaina Souza, Felipe Oliveira e Manuel Alvarez.

The cast with director William Ferrara and conductor Matheus Araújo.

Cutout I did of Gianni Schicchi book! ^_^ y

José Gallisa, Gigi Furtado e Edinéia de Oliveira.

João Ó de Almeida, in the one photo that looked good in black and white. I like black and white pictures, but the ones that look really good like this are rare!

In white shirt, Manuel Alvarez, in grey shirt, Matheus Araújo.

I have this thing of turning the camera to get different angles, I´m sorry, I know I have to be more careful to not turn too much as I did on this one… people will hurt their necks to look this photo ahahahaha

All the cast on the will scene. Testamenti! xD~

That´s all for now…. I just hope I can get my hand on new batteries next monday! O_O’

See ya.

Hello all!

 =D

I just uploaded on flickr.com some photos I took during the event Lírica Paraense, that was last thursday, August 23  at Theatro Da Paz, one of the most famous theatre in Belém, the city I live in right now.  And it´s actually the most important of the city.

Here, a view of Da Paz on the staterooms, from downstairs.

The lights inside the theatre were not very satisfactory, we can´t use flash, to adjust the focus, for me, was a compleatly nightmare…took more than 53 photos that in the end, showing on my computer, the good ones came to a number of 14!

This is Jena Vieira, a local soprano, she travelled and studied a lot, the first time I saw her singing, I thought she had a light resemblance to Montserrat Caballet. Now, listening to Barcelona again, it became more clear.  =D

At the piano, Mr. Paulo José Campos de Melo, he was top ten in Amsterdan in 2002. In blue dress, the always cute Marcia Aliverti, she´s teacher of violin and singing at the Music School of UFPa – which good Lord will let me go there next year! – and by her side, my new friend Antonio Wilson, he´s such a nice guy and a great singer, it´s always a pleasure to meet people like him.

These two, oh my god, someone should give them and lifetime award or something… they deserve it just because they made me laugh so much…  xD  The one in the suit is João Ó de Almeida and the one with the coins bag is Milton Monte, they sang “Venti Scudi” from the Donizzetti opera “L’Elisir D’Amore”…  their talent for comedy is so natural, they are actually starring also on the opera “Gianni Schicchi” which I´ll talk about in another post.

That´s all for now, folks! =D

 See ya.

New life, new blog…

…and old computer. ahn

Welcome to all…

As usual, as my usual complaining actually, my computer froze before I could save the whole text I had here… >_<  So I had to write all over again, but of course not with the same will.

A little bit different, but here we go.

I explained on that text why using the english as primary language, reason which I´m reaaaaally lazy now to explain again…xD

The thing is, this is for the ones really interested in me, as artist or just world citizen, and if you could comment in english too, I´ll appreciate. After all, I have to practice. >D

                                                              See ya.

Those schoolgirl days,
of telling tales and biting nails are gone,
But in my mind, I know they will still live on and on,
But how do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn't easy, but I'll try,
If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters,
That would sour a thousand feet high, To Sir, with Love
The time has come,
For closing books and long last looks must end,
And as I leave,
I know that I am leaving my best friend,
A friend who taught me right from wrong,
And weak from strong, That's a lot to learn,
What, what can I give you in return?
If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start,
But I, would rather you let me give my heart,
To Sir, with Love
